Our History

Ralph Stuck Lumber (RSL) has been bringing the forest into homes all across the eastern United States for over 70 years. Founded in 1946 by Ralph Stuck, Ralph Stuck Lumber has been on the cusp of innovative designs and the utmost quality of materials. In the beginning, RSL made a name for itself within the sawmill industry, where logs of wood were being cut into lumber. Stuck was insistent on differentiating his company by sourcing only the best lumber from Central Pennsylvania forests and redefining the lumber industry-standard processes that produced such unique pieces – setting RSL apart from the rest.

As time passed, Ralph Stuck got older, but the demand for quality lumber did not dwindle. Harold Stuck, Ralph’s son, took an interest in the sawmill from a young age. He spent time learning from his father, served in the United States Army, and then finally returned home to take over RSL in 1987. Under Harold’s leadership, RSL was able to open their millworks division in 2001. Adding a millworks division allowed RSL to showcase their flooring and molding products that they could then promote to a larger market and broaden their portfolio. Harold also had the opportunity of teaching his son, Joe, all about the family business. Joe is currently in charge of his family’s legacy since taking over 2008, having learned everything he knows from his father and grandfather.

Ralph Stuck Lumber has never veered from their mission of bringing high quality products from the forest into your home, such as kiln dried lumber, custom flooring, and unique woodworking projects. This family-owned legacy is dedicated to their customers and ready to help you with all your hardwood needs!
